On May 24, 2023, the delegation led by State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic Peter Gerhart paid a study visit to the Armenian NPP. The delegation was accompanied by Miroslav Hacek, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Armenia.

Close diplomatic and commercial-economic cooperation between Armenia and Slovakia has a 30-year history and the goal of the visit was to discuss the possibilities of expanding the scope of the cooperation, especially in energy field.

During the meeting, representatives of the delegation made presentations on the activities, products, services and work of the main industry organizations in Slovakia. Among them, with the companies VUEZ, a.s., JAVYS a.s. and VUJE a.s. the ANPP is already implementing certain projects, such as projects to improve the tightness of the containment of the ANPP, projects for radioactive waste management.

Moreover, the Armenian NPP is also in close and long-term cooperation with two large nuclear power plants in Slovakia, Bohunice and Mohovce NPPs.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the enhancement of the already established close partnership will contribute to the development of bilateral economic cooperation not only in the energy sector.
