Within the period of 25-29 April, 2022 the experts of the WANO Moscow Centre were at the Armenian NPP on a preliminary visit. The purpose of the visit was to discuss and agree on the organizational issues related to the upcoming peer review to be conducted from 25 August to 9 September, 2022.

During the meeting with the management of the nuclear power plant the experts presented general information on WANO peer reviews, in particular, the changes in the methodology for conducting them.

In the framework of the preliminary visit the experts carried out a technical walkdown of the plant, observed the implementation of the maintenance activities, studied the schedules of the operating personnel classes and the capabilities (features) of the training simulator of the Armenian NPP in order to make MCR crew performance observations.

During the final meeting the WANO representatives shared their positive impressions related to the large scope of modernization activities implemented at the plant, emphasized the importance of the cooperation and the plant staff participation in the WANO events that will contribute to strengthening of an open partnership.

At the end of the visit the sides signed a minutes on the work performed in the framework of the visit and on the organizational arrangements for the upcoming peer review.
