From 27 to 29 September, 2022 Eduard Martirosyan, General Director of the HAEK CJSC as a member of the delegation headed by Hakob Vardanyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia, took part in the 66^th Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held in Vienna.

During the event among the representatives of the IAEA member states the head of the Armenian delegation H. Vardanyan also made a report. He emphasized the importance of close and effective cooperation between various authorities of Armenia and the IAEA in almost all areas of the latter’s activities, in particular, he touched upon the successfully implemented project on extension of the ANPP Unit 2 life until 2026, as well as the project on construction of new nuclear power units that fully comply with modern safety requirements in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

In the framework of the 66^th Session of the General Conference the Armenian delegation met with US responsible representatives in the area of safe use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes. Various aspects of this complicated and important sphere were discussed with the American specialists, possible directions for further development of the long-term Armenian-American cooperation were outlined in terms of modern approaches. The meeting was quite effective, it was proposed to continue and give a practical character to the verbal arrangements already reached.
