THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA HAS BEEN ELECTED TO THE IAEA BOARD OF GOVERNORS

During the 67th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), held in Vienna on 25-29 September, 2023, the Republic of Armenia, among 11 new countries, was elected to the IAEA Board of Governors for the period of 2023-2025.

The Republic of Armenia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan came forward as candidates for the 2 seats allocated to the group of Eastern European countries. Armenia was elected to the Board of Governors, with a maximum number of votes – 94 votes, and Ukraine was elected with 79 votes.

35 out of the 177 IAEA Member States are members of the Governing Board.
