During the 67^th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), held in Vienna on 25-29 September, 2023, the Republic of Armenia, among 11 new countries, was elected to the IAEA Board of Governors for the period of 2023-2025.

The Republic of Armenia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan came forward as candidates for the 2 seats allocated to the group of Eastern European countries. Armenia was elected to the Board of Governors, with a maximum number of votes – 94 votes, and Ukraine was elected with 79 votes.

35 out of the 177 IAEA Member States are members of the Governing Board.
